About

Mila Ilingina, a mixed media sculptor based in Dubai, intricately crafts sculptures by hand, capturing tactile sensations of fluidity, serenity, and meditation. Her work embodies the rhythms, forms, and contrasting colors found in natural phenomena, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in a sensory journey.

“Transparency of water, color, and hand sculpting—three things I deeply cherish and combine in my works.

I use clay to form the initial shape of my sculptures. Hand sculpting, creating texture and volumes, immerses me in a state of flow. Smooth, undulating movements of the fingers and the smoothing of edges, akin to neurography, affect the state of mind and soothe internal conflicts.

Water is my source of energy. In my art, I convey its caustic properties through the use of transparent materials, such as epoxy resin. I create contrasts of transparency, shimmering highlights, tinted shades.

A deep connection with nature, contemplation and irresistible urge for experiments—this is my wellspring of inspiration.“ — Mila Ilingina.

Mila’s art serves as a reflection of her own inner landscape, inviting others to pause, ponder, and connect with the universal truths that bind us all.

She embarked on her creative journey over a decade ago, initially as a designer, honing skills and cultivating a deep appreciation for aesthetics and form. Today, she channel more than a decade of creative experience into each piece, creating a unique blend of design and artistry that embodies the essence of her artistic evolution.
